Chromatic Sounds: Latin American Art Exhibition
A 2016 exhibition of contemporary Latin American art, presented by the Foundation to audiences in South Florida.
In 2016 the Humboldt Group Foundation presented Chromatic Sounds, an exhibition devoted to contemporary expression and Latin American talent in South Florida. More than a one-off show, it was a bridge between art, education and community: a moment when the Foundation put the work of regional artists on stage and left a public record of that encounter. Among the trajectories documented are Morela Avilán and Karina Matheus.
For the Foundation, art has never been a separate department. Artistic expression is one of its stated values, and Chromatic Sounds is the clearest early example of what that means in practice: an exhibition mounted by an educational organization, on the premise that showing work and teaching are the same gesture pointed in two directions.
